Sep 16, 2016 In the most basic explanation, for each given swarm, a tracker only needs to collect a peer's IP address and port number to share with other peers connecting to that same swarm. Because of the very nature of BitTorrent, speeds are not guaranteed for any given torrent swarm. While you may get great speeds in one swarm, you might not in another. Torrents stuck on 'Connecting to Peers'. Have tried multiple torrents (that have lots of seeders), multiple torrent programs, turned off my firewall and disabled all virus security. Most used network pc being shunned by its peers I have raised some networking issues in other threads but feel it best to start another one as the problem seems to be becoming clearer. [uTorrent] Slow upload speed and low number of peers. In the past, I do have upload speeds of 400 kB/s to 1.0 mB/s for popular torrents. But now, my upload speeds is either nil or just a few kB/s. So, just like the title says, my torrents are stuck on 'Connecting to Peers 0.0%'. I've been downloading torrents for years now without a problem and then this just started randomly happening a week or two ago. I didn't change anything, didn't install any new security programs...it just happened.
After it happened, I disabled my firewall and any virus/adaware/malware security. Still nothing. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling uTorrent (the program I've been using for years). No dice. I tried qBittorrent, still didn't work. I've used mutliple different torrents (many with 1000+ seeders). Enabled and disabled DHT. Still stuck at 'Connecting to Peers'.
I really don't know what to do at this point. I've tried to look around and it seems like this has happened to multiple people but nobody seems to have a solution. I'm hoping this sub might have these elusive answers.
Some additional information, I have the most recent version of uTorrent. I do not use a VPN unforunately (I realize now I probably should have) but do use PeerBlock. Since I didn't use a VPN, do you think my ISP might have blocked me? Is there a way to tell?

One last thing, this may be totally unrelated but...I also haven't been able to play Borderlands 2 online. I tried playing with a friend the other day and even though I had a strong internet connection, I could not join his game and he couldn't join mine. Not sure if this is related to my torrent problem at all but thought I would mention it. I have not had any problems with any other games.
Can anyone help me!?
